to seek truly is a blessing

Although film photography may be rigid from a visual perspective because it cannot be changed once it has been shot, it represents a beautiful metaphor and an ideal way to capture such encounters. In order to produce film images, one usually has to be intensively concerned with their creation. In addition, the momentum and the history of the picture reveal themselves, which is equally true for encounters. Both have a consequence: something has been created, something has occurred. Now it may be unclear at first whether the consequence is positive or negative but, to cite Audre Lorde again, “what is most important to [one] must be spoken, made verbal and shared, even at the risk of having it bruised or misunderstood.”

Politics is often understood as the play of fixed interests and fronts. Although such a definition can help better understand political opinions, it fails at providing a ground for what is essential to solving the issues that arise from distinctive opinions: encounters. This blog explores these encounters; sometimes between diverse people, sometimes with less familiar issues and ideas. Always keeping in mind that once encounters take place, the seemingly fixed nature of (political) fronts can and is being (re-)shaped.
